Fishmeal substitution by Iberian pig meal and vegetable proteins blend and inclusion of Isochrysis aff. galbana (T‐Iso) in diets for gilthead seabream ( Sparus aurata L.): Effects on growth and feed utilization efficiency

چکیده

Research was carried out into the effect of partial and total fishmeal (FM) replacement by a vegetable animal proteins blend, as well inclusion microalgae in diets for gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata L.). Fish 64 g on initial weight were fed until apparent satiation 88 days. The control diet (FM100) contained FM main protein source, whilst FM25, FM10 FM0 diets, replaced 75%, 90% 100%, respectively, blend consisting Iberian pig meal (IPM) meals. FM0+ similar to but included 50 g/kg Isochrysis aff. galbana (T-Iso). Results obtained final bodyweight specific growth rate indicate that FM25 FM100 achieved performances. An improvement performance nutrient utilization observed with respect diet. highest retention efficiencies protein, energy essential amino acids found diets. In conclusion, up 75% substitution on-growing is feasible, addition, (T-Iso) improves non-FM

Environmental Conditioning of Skeletal Anomalies Typology and Frequency in Gilthead Seabream (Sparus aurata L., 1758) Juveniles

In this paper, 981 reared juveniles of gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) were analysed, 721 of which were from a commercial hatchery located in Northern Italy (Venice, Italy) and 260 from the Hellenic Center for Marine Research (Crete, Greece). These individuals were from 4 different egg batches, for a total of 10 different lots. Each egg batch was split into two lots after hatching, and reared...

Self-selection of diets with different oil oxidation levels in gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata)

The present research looked at the ability of gilthead seabream to discriminate between two similar diets differing only in the extent of lipid oxidation. Six groups of 4 fish (254g initial wet weight) were allowed to select by means of self-feeders between two complete diets (34.5% casein + gelatin, 14.8% fish oil + soybean oil, 24.8% dextrin and 25.9% vitamins, minerals, filler and binder) wh...

A role for acidophilic granulocytes in the testis of the gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata L., Teleostei).

In mammals, a complex interaction between the immune and the reproductive systems has been described, in which testicular immune cells produce cytokines and growth factors which modulate gonad functions, while specific gonad cells influence the immune response in this organ. In this study we describe the presence of acidophilic granulocytes in the testis of the hermaphrodite teleost fish gilthe...

Inorganic, organic, and encapsulated minerals in vegetable meal based diets for Sparus aurata (Linnaeus, 1758)

Substituting fishmeal (FM) with vegetable meal (VM) can markedly affect the mineral composition of feeds, and may require additional mineral supplementation. Their bioavailability and optimal supplementation levels depend also on the form of delivery of minerals. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of different delivery forms of three major trace elements (Zn, Mn and Se) in a marin...
